Monson is a great Maine town located south of Moosehead Lake. It’s quiet but not remote or undeveloped. There are plenty of stores that have just about everything you need.
The Monson General Store offers coffee and sandwiches and any other item you need for morning, lunch or snack. Stop by for breakfast and coffee before adventuring out on the Appalachian Trail.

Not in the mood to cook dinner???? Try the Lakeshore House restaurant in Monson. It’s awesome! Rebecca, the owner, is super friendly and accommodating.

Need groceries? Maine is home to a number of Hannaford Supermarkets. There’s one in Greenville at the Indian Hill Trading Post. This Hannaford has everything you’ll need. It even has my chocolate yogurt pops. Make time to check out the Trading Post. It’s a labyrinth of shoes, clothing, and other items. It’s truly awesome!

Speaking of awesome… you have to go shopping in Greenville. The Indian Store at Kamp Kamp is amazing.

This is a picture I took of the inside the first time I went there. This store just goes on and on. There are sections with antiques, a section for new items, there’s even a candy store. The prices are great and there’s so much to explore.

Want an adventure? Whitewater rafting or a guided moose tour? Check out Northeast Whitewater.
